This is going to be a post all about the “not so glamorous” parts of pregnancy. I didn’t truly realize (& honestly probably still don’t know) what goes into those days of healing postpartum, but I have done a lot of research and learned from some friends. The number one recommendation was to have a basket or cart in the bathroom full of just things that you need. This way, you can go to the bathroom like normal without having to remember lots of things, because they are already there.
These are the items that I added to mine. I am planning to deliver vaginally so these are the things I plan to use for healing.

Here’s a list of what I have in here:
- Adult diapers (I went with more mesh underwear than full on diapers)
- extra long and large pads (for when I no longer need the diapers)
- Fridamom peri bottle (to spray when I can’t wipe)
- wipes (to transition from peri bottle to toilet paper
- tucks (basically wipes to help heal hemorrhoids)
- claraderm (a healing spray for down there)
- Fridamom padsicles (you can also make your own) for those first few days post delivery
With each bathroom trip at the beginning, I’ll have to fill the peri bottle with warm water (I’ve heard its better that way) and bring a padsicle from the freezer. These are only for use the first few days home, so hopefully I won’t need them for too long.
Anyways, that is what I have ready and prepared. It is in the crib for now since I won’t actually need it until I get home from the hospital, but the second I get home, it’s going to find its new home on the back of my toilet.
Any questions about why I picked some of the things or recommendations for certain items? Let me know. I always love to chat.
XOXO,
Hil
