Date Your Spouse, boo

Your relationship is an investment. I know you might be on a tight budget. I know you have bills to pay. I know being an adult is EXPENSIVE. This is a non negotiable. It doesn’t have to be a trip across the country. It can be a phoneless free or inexpensive date night. It can be a staycation in the next town over. Or it can be going somewhere new together. Find what fits into your budget — but make it fit into your budget. You invest in your health. You invest in your retirement. You might invest in GameStop, but you HAVE TO INVEST IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP.

Trust me. From someone whose relationship was basically nonexistent & was married to their roommate — if you don’t invest in your relationship, you won’t have one. Josh said so many times on our trip how thankful he is that we did it. He’s the penny pincher in our relationship, but we will for sure be doing this again. We are now taking marriage retreat 2022 suggestions 🤘🏼

&& wanted to drop a handful of FREE date night suggestions for you —

• Watch the sunset • Read a book together • Take a walk (or bike ride or rollerblade) • Stargaze • Raid the game closer & play a board game (or build a puzzle) • Swing at the park • Learn a TikTok dance together • Karaoke together (YouTube songs to sing) • Shoot hoops (or play tennis) • Play truth or dare

Let us know if you do one of these!

10 Favorite Oils Outside the Starter Kit

Sooo this is a question that I’ve been asked a few times, so I wanted to leave a whole post here about it.

The PSK (premium starter kit) has SO many amazing oils that support sleep, skin, anxiety, etc. I reach for the starter kit oils ALL THE TIME, but there are some oils outside of the starter kit that I absolutely love as well!

Soooo without further ado…my 10 favorite oils outside the starter kit (& why):

  1. Joy: This emotional support oil does exactly what it says that it does
  2. Envision: This is the oil that I diffuser non-stop in my office because it brings out all the creative vibessss & I just love it.
  3. Grapefruit: THIS OIL is my favorite to add to every single blend ever. It is so refreshing & uplifting and it just adds a punch to any other blend.
  4. Orange: Again, another citrus oil that is bright & uplifting that I love to throw in with any oil. There is basically never not orange in my kitchen diffuser.
  5. Christmas Spirit: I know, I know. You are probably one of those people who only celebrate Christmas from Thanksgiving to December 25th. BUT this blend is the perfect combo of cinnamon, orange & spruce that is honestly wonderful to diffuse year round.
  6. Sacred Mountain: Probably my favorite emotional support oil. It is SO grounding & just takes the emotions out of it & helps me feel like I can do hard things.
  7. Cedarwood: This oil combined with Lavender (starter kit oil) is the ultimate sleep blend. It’s an inexpensive oil
  8. Blue Tansy: The ultimate skin care oil that makes your face sooooo glowy. I waited so long to buy this because it was expensive, but this oil is a game changer for my skin
  9. Northern Lights Black Spruce: This is my fav woodsy oil that pretty much goes with everything! It smells a little like Christmas & a whole lot like you are hanging at a crib in the woods for a few weeks. It reminds me of our cabin in Georgia.
  10. Transformation: This is a newer oil to me but I can’t stop diffusing it. With the change of jobs, I am transforming (for lack of better words) into this new stage of life — running my own business, being self-employed and also being a stay at home dog mom.

Alright, so what are your favorite oils outside of the starter kit? Did any of mine make your list?

XOXO,

Hil

Favorite Everyday Shoes

So with this new year, I am shifting my focus a little bit to sharing more overall lifestyle items. I will also be sharing recipes & oily information, but I will probably also be sharing some things that I am loving, trips I am taking & just general life updates.

So today I’m starting it off with my current favorite shoes. I’ve linked them below in Like to Know it so that you can shop the shoes if you would like. The advantage of like to know it for me is that if you use my link, I get a small commission for it. It’s a full time job running this business, but not full time pay as I work to grow it. If you love what I are sharing, I would love it if you would also use my link to help support me!

Here are the 4 shoes that I am wearing on the regular —

– Leopard Slippers (amazon): The most comfy house shoes && working from home calls for comfy & warm shoes and these are the absolute best!

– Eva Birkenstocks: my go to slide on shoes for the pool, beach, gym, or with any athletic wear!

– White Converse: go with basically everything & are perfect for casual wear — leggings, jeans, dresses — throw these on for a comfy & cute look

– Cheetah Booties: these inexpensive Target booties are perfect for a night out or a date with your boo, but still super comfy to make them practical

What are your current favorite pair of shoes?! Drop it in the comments below!

DIY Body Oil Roller

This is part of the series on roller bottles & essential oils. One of the best part of roller bottles is that they are a quick & easy way to access your essential oils on the go. You can mix up the perfect combo for various circumstances & roll it right onto your skin as needed. You just need the oils that you’d like for the roller, a carrier oil, and a roller bottle.

Even though we live in Florida where the humidity overflows, dry skin is still a thing from time to time. Between the dry skin & a desire for a non-toxic perfume, this DIY body oil roller has become one of my favorite rollers to carry around with me.

All you need is a 30 ML roller & a carrier oil & some of your favorite oils (because you will be smelling them ALL DAY LONG). If you really wanna make it pretty, get some dried flowers (I bought mine on Amazon) to add to the body oil. This makes it SO DREAMYYY. ⁣

Let’s break down these oils really quick so you can see why I picked them:

Orange: energizing aroma when massaged into skin

Frankincense: a stimulating aroma & a sweet, honey-like, and woody fragrance

Copaiba: creates a warm, inviting environment

Patchouli: creates a peaceful and calming environment

Cedarwood: creates a relaxing, calming, and comforting atmosphere

Like I said before, you can choose any combo of oils that make you happy, and any carrier oil that you have on hand. This body roller will literally make your skin so soft & smooth, while smelling absolutely incredible.

Let me know what oils you would put in your body oil roller & if you try this, tag me on the gram! I love to connect with y’all!

Scar Reducer Roller

This is part of the series on roller bottles & essential oils. One of the best part of roller bottles is that they are a quick & easy way to access your essential oils on the go. You can mix up the perfect combo for various circumstances & roll it right onto your skin as needed. You just need the oils that you’d like for the roller, a carrier oil, and a roller bottle.

** Disclaimer: Remember, we are not medical professionals & are only sharing what has worked for us. For real medical issues, please contact your primary care physician.

Today we are going to chat about our scar reducer roller bottle. This has helped so much with the healing of my scar from surgery (broke my elbow in 3 places, like a boss).

This combo came from my amazing (& favorite) little pocket reference of all things oily. It lists It is 10-12 drops Gentle Baby, Patchouli, Geranium & Lavender and 5-7 drops of Frankincense, Valor & Myrrh. These are some of the best oils for skin care that are also reasonably priced! We just put it all in the roller bottle, fill to the top with a carrier oil & then roll it right on the scar 2-5 times a day.

Let’s break down these oils really quick so you can see why they make the perfect scar reducer blend:

Gentle Baby: gives appearance of a healthy complexion

Patchouli: apply to skin for a healthy, youthful-looking glow

Lavender: helps cleanse & soothe minor skin irritations

Geranium: helps cleanse skin & promotes youthfulness

Frankincense: helps heal wounds & fight wrinkles

Valor: improves the appearance of skin

Myrrh: moisturizing for the skin

Let me know what is in your scar reduction blend or if you try this, tag me on the gram! I love to connect with y’all!

DIY Stain Stick

Did you know that Young Living is SO much more than oils? Even though I started Young Living for sleep support through oils, I continue to use it for so many other things in our daily lives. One of the things that was the absolute hardest to ditch, but I finally found a great switch for is our stain remover.

With three pups in the house, a muddy yard & a husband who sweats a lot (hello personal trainer), we got stains for days & need something mighty to get the dirt & grime out.

Well here I am with another great ditch & switch for you — your stain remover (or Shout if you’re like us).

Have you ever scanned this with that think dirty app? No? Well you should! And then go ahead and grab you some Thieves cleaner, Thieves dish soap and some oils & make this SUPERRR easy DIY Stain Stick. ⁣

All you need is a 30 ML roller & equal parts of thieves household cleaner and thieves dish soap. You can also add any essential oil of your choosing to supercharge it. My favorite combo is lemon & thieves for all things clean. ⁣

Save this. Order your DIY products. Throw out your stain remover & make this immediately. ⁣

Let’s break down these oils really quick so you can see why they make the perfect Thieves DIY Stain Stick:

Lemon: clears lungs & sinuses

Thieves: prevents infection & promotes healing

* Thieves is a blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Rosemary & Eucalyptus Radiata

Let me know what you currently use for a stain stick & if you try this, tag me on the gram! I love to connect with y’all!

DIY Bug Spray

A friend reached out to me about bugs & oils to deter bugs from attacking her when she’s at the beach. I know citronella helps with bugs because of the candies we used to burn growing up when I was camping. ⁣

I hadn’t really thought about making a DIY bug spray, but I know the chemicals in bug spray & know id rather choose a plant-based or non-toxic option. ⁣

I looked into my oily pocket reference (the best thing ever) & found some other oils known to help with bug bites & went to work! ⁣

A few tips -⁣

• make sure your witch hazel is free of fragrance ⁣

• you can’t mess it up; try the oils you have on hand or do your research and pick the ones you think are best. Try a different combo each time until you find the perfect one (but we think this is about as perfect as it gets)

• we add our oils first, then fill to the top with equal parts witch hazel & water

• you’ll have to shake/swirl the bottle before use because the oils can separate from the water

DIY BUG SPRAY

15-20 drops of both citronella & lemongrass⁣

3-8 drops of eucalyptus, tea tree & rosemary⁣

2-3 drops of lavender

Fill the 2 oz glass bottle with equal parts witch hazel & water.

Spray before you go outside in the summer or wherever the bugs are around you.

What’s in your bug spray? Is it all this plant based goodness?

xoxo,

Hil
